What to expect after a gum graft.
What can I say?
I am here to shake things up… with all this talk of gum grafting and whathaveyou…
This video was taken the day after my gum graft. I think I look not so bad for having undergone such mouthal trauma. I am at day 5 in the recovery process and at 3:30 this morning, the gum removal site started throbbing. Throbbing. THROBBING.
But I am down 5 pounds since Tuesday. So… I’d say I am only 3 gum grafts away from my ideal weight!
Also, my pain meds are kicking in, so I should probably finish up before I type something I might regret.
Something I might regret.
Heh.
OK… the video.

ew. Jenny, I’m sorry you’re going through that. I’m not sure though, did you say they SCALPED your mouth? ; )
Oh, girl! You are Funny! You+drugs = funny! (At least, I really hope that was the drugs talking, cuz otherwise, I’ll feel really bad for thinking you’re that loopy.)
Anyway, hope you found some way to nourish yourself! I hate that HUNGRY feeling!
are you allowed to use a straw?? cause i would totally go to like mcdonald’s and get me a shake ot six and get me some nourishment that way!! nothing to stick in them there stiches that way!! except the straw, but if your careful, you shouldn;t have a problem!!! happy fourth!!!
gggeeez if i could type, should read or* six….and stitches….gggrrr….and probably shouldn’t* ugh
Owie Owie Owie!!! I thought you were going to cry when you said how hungry you are. I hate being hungry. I hate stitches. I hate having a sore mouth. I feeeeeel for you.. hope it all recovers soon and you can stuff your face with goodness again.
Kerry xx
poor thing!! Can you have a protein drink or something? Man the roof of the mouth sounds worse than the graft part. YIKES!!! Praying for you!
OMG you are sooo funny! Hope you feel better.
I feel so bad for you!!! I also feel so bad that I laughed through your vlog considering your pain and hunger (OMG! I can’t believe you caught that on film!!). Hope you are better now.
oh jenny! i almost started to cry! not sure if it was the anxiety i was feeling because i can’t handle the dentist calmly….or feeling nervous for you.
poor thing.
i am so sorry that gum grafts exist!
Feel better soon. Sending hugs and my secret sparkle stash.
Oh honey. This just sucks so bad. I hope it’s better soon.
“something you might regret”… like promising to write songs for people? There might be a “I was out-of-my-mind-on-drugs” loophole for prize promises. Something to look into, anyway.
I’m truly sorry about your “discomfort” (doctor code for hurts like a mother-bitch!) and your hunger and your stitches and the scalping (!). Even if there isn’t a law against taking advantage of bloggers hopped up on drugs making rash promises, there definitely should be a law against sticking needles in the roof of someone’s mouth (and then charging them for it). Be well.
Scalping of the mouth is a fabulous term, especially if you ever want to set somebody slightly on edge. So sorry you have to go through this. I saw my dentist in the store over the weekend and he gave me a big hug, that’s how much time I spend in his chair on a monthly basis. Hope you feel better soon!!
[...] awesome! Cake pops and puppets… Lisa’s awesome, her daughter is awesome…)… I got my gum graft that week. And had another little BBQ at our place, then [...]
You make me feel so much better. I’m having this done tomorrow and the girls on Facebook told me you had it done, so I googled the post:) I know I’m going to be starving as well. I’m here making jello, and pudding and smoothies. Ugh hopefully I’ll lose weight as well! Thanks again for the fun video and I hope all goes well with me!!!
