Must-Haves: Walmart’s Scan & Go App AND My Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe!

I was contacted by the folks at Collective Bias to review and share about my experience with the Walmart Scan & Go app. Though this is a sponsored post, my opinion and user experience is not. Opinion expressed here is all mine…

Sometimes I feel a bit app overloaded. So many apps, so little time. It takes a lot for an app to stand out and become a regular for me. Or maybe it takes a little… for me, the simpler an app is… the better.

Once I familiarized myself with this new app, it was smooth sailing. I made an error at first… instead of selecting the “Scan & Go” tab on the bottom right, I selected the “Scan” button. The scan feature is excellent for price check, but won’t get you scannin’ and goin’.

So…make sure you select the Scan & Go tab – bottom right.

Scan & Go, Walmart
Scan your item, put it in a bag (bring a recyclable one from home or grab one/some from the front of the store), repeat.

Removing items are easy. When you scan an item, it is added to a que… When you tap the edit button in that cue (upper left) you can deleted unwanted items. Simply remove the item from the app, and return the bagged item to the shelf.

Scan & Go, Walmart
When finished, head to the self checkout, select the checkout button on your app…and select the Scan & Go option on the check-out screen. The screen will give a QR code, and you scan that code… then the items you scanned while shopping with load into the checkout screen. You pay. You leave. No un-carting, bagging, and re-carting

Scan (while you shop)

And GO.

I loved the ease of use. I loved being able to see how my groceries were adding up. I didn’t get to use the coupon feature because I got a little distracted by the other bells and whistles! My husband was with me (my videographer) and he was impressed too. I can’t tell you how really, really wonderful it was to walk up to the checkout and not have to unload, scan, bag, and re-load my cart. Even with my husband there, my 8 year old is never the most patient in lines. Or wants to help scan. With the Scan & Go app, she can help me scan at our own pace instead of feeling the pressure of those waiting in line behind us.

If you watched the video, you saw I made some cookies. I have pinned a number of self-claimed “best ever” chocolate chip cookie recipes. But none have ever beat the simple recipe of my childhood… This is my mom’s recipe. I share it with you… for making happy taste buds and bellies.

Also, it may or may not be the very best tasting in raw for as well. It’s what I hear…
