My Alter-Ego: Her Birthday

Some of you may or may not know I have an alter-ego.

J-Bling. Her tagline, “I AM that ego.”

It all started out innocently enough. One day a little voice said, “Glitter… Glitter spray. Just a little…”

The next thing I know there is ever-present glitter on my bathroom floor, pieces of feather boas turning up just about everywhere…

And a name emerges – J-Bling. Then the Twitter account – @J_Bling, and now her own Facebook account with her own network of friends and inside jokes. What’s next – her own blog?!!! *does sign of the cross*

Fortunately, at least for awhile… we have most friends in common. However. She has managed to find 30 people to be friends with on Facebook… that are not friends with ME – her HOST PERSON.

Not only does she have friends that are not friends with me, but she has declared a separate birthday from my/our own. April 27th. As a result, yesterday she had me login to her Facebook account all day… so she could thank HER friends for HER birthday greetings.

My husband – my husband (MY HUSBAND) even bought her her own little cake!

Y’all know how I hate sharing the stage. I knew having kids would steal some of my limelight, but who knew I would end up stealing my own limelight?

And in the end one would think I’d have some control over her, but… she is a master manipulator. Her sparkles can cause even the most seasoned glitter-users to become disoriented.

In other news… like all of you, this is not unique to me…life has been keeping a hectic pace. Or perhaps life has been a strong rip-tide of late.
