Burning Question: How Do You Decide When It’s Time To Call Your Child’s Doctor?
My youngest daughter cut her toe recently. Remember? She thinks she a lizard because it grew back.
Aaaaanywho… the whole event caused a little crisis within my maternal soul:
SHOULD I CALL THE DOCTOR?
Do you struggle with this, or is it always an easy decision? Does having medical insurance (or NOT having it) affect your decision? Am I just nuts and am the only one who struggles with this?

I totally struggle with this one. But after being told “there’s nothing we can do” I usually look for the warning signs they have told me to look for before rushing there. Like if the child has bumped her head and there is a huge egg in the middle of it (just sayin’), look at the pupils of her eyes, dialated means “not good”.
Also, uncontrolable bleeding = not good.
Fevers over 103 = again, not good.
All those times I call the doc. Other than that, we have a wait it out if it isn’t too urgent policy here.
Especially since our insurance isn’t the greatest.
Then there was this time, I accidentally slammed my little ones’ finger in the car door. Yup. Emergency room. No brainer then.

I struggle all the time even with medical insurance. Reason why is that even insurance leaves you with a lot to pay later. It sucks having to be in that situation. You are not the only one.
It’s tough…You’re a GREAT MOM!!
