Touching the Moon: an Emergent Blogger?
My daughter (7) was given a writing prompt at school, “Monica wanted to touch the moon. If you wanted to touch the moon, what would you do? Write how you would try to touch the moon.”
Olivia wrote (her punctuation, her spelling),
I would do all uf the things that my mom and dad say. I would ask very nisly (nicely) and if thay say no I would crie so loudly everyone in the naberhowd (neighborhood) would heer me and I would crie so loud I would faint!! I wuld get a rocetship for my brthday and I wuld go to the moon in spac (space). I wuld save up my muny and fors (force) a servent to take me to spac.
I think she has career in blogging… or destined to be an aristocratic leader. Or dictator.

Abi and I think Olivia needs a little focus on that “do all uf the things that my mom and dad say” and a little less “crie so loud I would faint.” Though I think if children cry themselves into unconsciousness, they aren’t noisy anymore.
Thanks for giving us a great late-evening laugh.
That is the cutest thing….thank you for sharing!
Yeah, she’s got it all: drama, fortitude, determination. When you buy her that rocketship for her birthday, where you gonna store it? Will it fit in your garage?
Does your daughter text?
Anyway, that was freaking adorable. I don’t know how you resist posting every single homework assignment.
I, too, long for the day when a servant can take me to the moon. I’d regret the fact that I would have to FORCE this servant, but hey, that’s one of the privileges of having a servant.
I have also learned the important lesson that if you save up your moneys, you can buy almost anything!
Force a servant to take her to the moon?
Yeah, I’m gonna go with future dictator…but she will be a cute dictator!
That is sweet and funny at the same time! She certainly is creative!
Frampton used it on his album Frampton Comes Alive! ,
