The Tri Turtle Triathlon: Pictures and Commentary

My name is Jenny and I finished a triathlon a couple-a weeks ago (1/2 mile swim, 15 mile bike, 3.2 mile run). Here I am waiting for the swim start in my very cool bright green cap. Just waiting with 240 of my closest friends…

The 17th person out of the swim was… ME. I will not post a picture of that… instead I have chosen a photo of me starting the run portion… This would be the beginning of the run… After the bike – in which I placed 98th… I only lost, like 80 places after the swim… that’s all.

By the end of the run, I felt like this:

And I looked like this:

I like this next picture… It hides all the stuff I like to hide – no evidence of the cruel spirit of gravity… Plus I was seconds from crossing the finish line. Has anyone ever noticed that finish lines are particularly beautiful? I think finish lines are under-appreciated. Maybe I should start a club in Facebook, “Those Who Appreciate the Inherent Beauty of Finish Lines”.

My final finish place – 57th. That dog-gone bike! Guess what I’m working on this fall… You guessed it – eating cheesy-casseroles and baked goods.

Feel free to connect with me on FacebookYouTube, and Twitter. And let's not forget about good old Pinterest and Instagram!

‘ceptin’ I wasn’t feelin’ so “hard core” after cyclist after cyclist after cyclist after cyclist…. AFTER CYCLIST passed me. Nothin’ takes the wind outofa girl’s sail (or air outofa girl’s tires) like, prolly 60 poeple passing her. Oh well, I never said I WAS Lance Armstrong… I’ve only said I was LIKE him!

  5. jennielynn says:

You are seriously hard-core. You rock. RAWK! And I am totally giggling about the RawR. Miss you.

I can’t even wrap my small mind around a triathlon. You are my hero. Mainly because you want to eat cheesy casseroles and baked goods, though.

  8. Kathleen says:

I would like to point out that our fearless friend Jenny is one of the few NOT wearing a wet suit in what I can only assume is COLD water…you are hard core!

Love the photos and mighty fine use of Picnik – you have such a bright future in graphic design :-)

And I’ll be the one to point out that YOU passed 41 people during the run on your way to the finish line…I bet that was hella fun!!

    Congrats Jenny!!

  9. Tink says:

Yahoo…Girl, I applaud you big time! When I participated in the “My First Triathalon” two summers ago I had an encounter with almost drowning!

  10. Julie S. says:

Where can I get a game face like yours? You got the eye of the TI-Gah. (Maybe we could call you “Tigre”…you DO like da cars dat go BOOM)

I’m SOOOO grateful it’s your hot bod and not mine you decided to post here. Gravity at its strongest? Girl, I win the sag-a-thon by a good ten inches! Even counting the lil’ smokies.

  11. Michelle says:

I pulled an ass muscle pushing a baby stroller up a hill. You did great!!!! Run on!
