The Bloscars (Blog Awards Extravaganza!) – Part 3
Alrighty friends! We are on award 3# in a series of 7 awards I am so privileged to have received, and now have the joy to hand out. This next award is called “Sharing the Love”… This one is particularly touching to me. Thank you Bubba’s Sis for the gift.
If you click on the award image above, it will take you the blog of the woman who created this award. Her story is touching, to make a gross understatement. In a nutshell, she created this award in honor of the donor that saved her son’s life. Noah’s story is an ongoing one…Â Â
I can’t figure out a smooth segue, so I’ll just write. I have written before about my friend’s daughter Maddie. In January it will be a year since she passed away. She was almost 4 when she passed away… while working so hard to get well enough to be put back on the heart transplant list. Cindy, if you happen to be reading this… you, Dave and the kids are heavy on my heart this holiday season. I think about the joy that Maddie brought to all who had the privilege to hear her laugh, look into her eyes… to hold her hand. I still struggle with deep grief when I ponder the heartache and uncertainty you had to bear for so long… and the grief you now face daily… My friend, you are a strong woman who I admired even before Maddie was born. When I read stories like Noah’s, I think of you… knowing you would rejoice in their answered prayers, but also know you miss your daughter. Maddie was a wonderful, precious spark of Wonderful who made a huge difference in this world.
Humbly, here is my attempt to pass on this “Sharing the Love” Award. The rules state:Â
Share this award with all those blogs out there that you love. All the people who make you smile. All those that make you laugh. All those that make your day. All those that leave uplifting comments on your blog. **All I ask, is that you include a link to this post with the award and ask your recipient to do the same*
To be honest (and for a moment – to NOT aggrandize myself), nearly all of my commenters leave me uplifting comments. I gotta say, the folks who take the time to jot a few words – seriously rock. I’ve deleted one comment that was just plain mean, and everyone else… pretty much golden. I sure hope it stays that way. What I have decided to do is award several bloggers I know who are out there touching lives in one way or another. It’s a diverse group… I hope you will take a few moments to see what they are up to.
The Jag Fam – I know this family because, well, we live in the same town and they have become dear friends to us over the years…Â Folks, this is AWESOME timing. Right this minutes, the Jag family is in Ghana, meeting the 2 newest members of their now FAMILY OF 7! Daron and Kristin waited longer than most to have a child assigned, but it seems the wait had a purpose. You see, they were waiting for a young boy, and instead they are adopting a boy AND a girl – a brother and sister. Daron has been in Ghana for weeks. Kristin and their other 3 children just arrived and met their new brother and sister. Now is sure a great time to meet up with their story. Congratulations Jags… we love you and are tickled to pieces! May your return home be safe and uneventful!
The Grief Diet – I met Kim in college. We re-connected via Facebook, and I met her blog. I also have learned more about Kim in these short months than I ever learned about her in college. In The Grief Diet, Kim writes about her grief journey after the sudden loss of her father last April. I want to give Kim this award for opening the door to the raw feelings of grief. The feelings people often hide, the things people may not be able to express… I value her openness with the wide range of emotion that deep grief sleeps with. Thank you Kim for being vunerable, for being authentic… for sharing your journey.
Stacey at Jamee Forever – Â I came across a particular post recently that made me think, “What an incredible woman!” I am handing this award to you, Stacey for making a difference in the lives of the residents at the nursing home you serve. I admire your effort, your love… your sense of humor! What you are doing is something I have considered doing more than a few times. The difference is – you are DOING it… visiting, bantering, playing bingo, caring for our elderly who deserve to be loved and treated with dignity. Thank you for serving them… and so freely giving of your time and heart!
Submerged - The gal who writes this blog (however randomly) is my dear friend Tess. I met Tess in college. Tess is a special friend. There are few grown women I physically fight with, but for some reason when we can’t seem to see eye to eye – we go toe to toe. It’s all in jest, but we’re both pretty competitive, so you know we both want to win. She’s relentless. I’m just prideful. Ok, so is she. Right, Tess?
I digress… I want to give this girl this particular award because she is one of the hardest working, most genuine women I know. She posts randomly because… good golly the woman has a lot on her plate. Over the last great number of months she has been “patiently” waiting… Her family is giddy with anticipation as they wait to be able to head out as missionaries. “Waiting” isn’t easy for anyone, but consider this – 4 children, a house on the market for MONTHS, and a heart that is desperate to move on to what it has been aching to do… be missionaries. This is a special family who has many unknowns ahead, but they press on… and in her blog Tess honestly struggles through the ups and downs of waiting for something that should already have been done. Tess… I’m sharing the love with you
Mommy from the Midwest – I am giving her this award for one particular recent post. This post that gave me flashbacks to the darkest days… Sick babies and No. Sleep. Bless her Midwestern heart… the illness is over now, but it was this post that spoke to me. It is so hard to nurture and care for very sick, snotty, cranky, screaming little ones – with only little to no sleep. If anyone deserves a little love, it’s you…

What an amazing award. When I have more time to read, I am coming back here and going to every one of those blogs.
Wow, Jenny, I’m stunned…not just that you gave me the award, but that anyone even reads my stuff, hehe. Naw, with sweet Luther on the post, who wouldn’t want to know who he is. I hope you do follow your heart with this, the folks you will bless will be beyond grateful and something tells me you’ll seriously make a difference.
Thank you for including me, my friend, and now…I see a few recipients I think I’d like to know more. I’m off to read. xo
Wow what an inspiring list – I will take the time to visit each blog when I get home tonight.
Thank you so much! Isn’t it hard to help those little ones we love so much when we can’t even function enough to blink. I felt bad complaining but only a mom could understand what I was going through. It is like those sleepless nights when a baby first comes home that some people aren’t honest about…they can stink big time when you don’t get sleep for 3 weeks or more.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! You made me feel good today.
I have to check out those other blogs too.
You definitely deserved the award!
I’m sure all your recipients deserve it as well, but I’m partial to Stacey.
Love her!
More amazing people to read…thank you Jenny for sharing your gems.
How awesome to hear of these great blogs and all of the awards going around … I’m just glad to have made the “I read” cut on your site in the last week or so. An IRL friend now gone virtual (due to moving). It’s a short list and I’ve been working very hard at my blogness savy. I proudly accept your “I read” award and will work diligently at maintaining my status. Hee Hee.
