The Bloscars (Blog Awards Extravaganza!) – Part 2
Way back in July, Katia at Crazy for Trying, gave me this award: Este Blog premia el arte y la creatividad! Then in August, the gals at 3 Giraffes also gave me this award! This award is given to stunning individuals who bless the blog-world with their creativity, design, interesting material, and also for contributing to the blogging community. These awards make me feel all philantrophy-ish… -phu… -phi… -pho… fum??? They also make me feel thankful, so thank you both for choosing me for this award!
In order for me to claim my awardS, I have to follow the rules. I am such a slave to rules… I think in some cultures I might be considered a goddess for that… I digress…
Upon winning and accepting this award one is enslaved. to follow the following rules…
- Pick 5 blogs for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also for contributing to the blogging community, no matter what language.
- Include the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
- The winner posts the award and links to the blog that has given the award.
- Award-winner must link to the originator of this award… the “Arte y Pico” blog.
Since the rules state I must give out 5 awards, basic math principles bring me to the logical conclusion I need to give out 10. I’m not even “mathy”, but look how I solved that problem! Is there a “Mathy Blogger Award”? I might need one of you to nominate me for that one. But this post isn’t about me or my hawtness mathy-ness. It’s about ME giving awards to 10 bloggers I feel are creative, interesting… generally wonderful…
*Michelle at Noggin Toppers – Michelle is so creative! She makes “toppers” for, uh… noggin’s!!! And we go to the library with our littlest ones sometimes, and then eat donuts for lunch. Her blog tagline: “Motherhood and Creativity: Hand-in-Hand”. Yep. This award is for you, my friend… you got skillz.
*Krysta at 5x5project – Krysta (who is also Evil Chef Mom) started this blog in the last few months. I have been honored to be able to feature some of my own photos on 5×5 Project… and 2 coming in December! I expressed nervous interest when she first announced her plan, and she gently encouraged me to try. I now take my camera almost everywhere… and eagerly await her announcements of future “assignments”. Thank you Krysta for stirring my sleeping inner-photographer!
*Heather at Swanky Paper – Heather creates beautiful stationary. *swoon* I adore her creations… Her style is… just… my eyes can’t stop looking at the colors and shapes. Yum. On top of that, when I emailed her about what to do with my “jewelery” (a.k.a Fakey Fakersons)… because she seemed like the type to have a classy & creative solution… she sent a picture of what she uses! So sweet! Moreover — recently she sent me a link to a darling jewelery holder at Urban Outfitters! Creative, thoughtful… yes you are!!!
*Heidi at Heidiology – Heidi is a friend from college, who I recently reconnected with via Facebook. Turns out, Heidi has a blog! In her blog she features her incredible scrapbook designs (digi – yes?). I stopped scrapbooking quite awhile ago, but her designs make me feel hungry to create like that again. Thank you for the inspiration, Heidi!
*Cathy at Noble Pig – Even though Cathy is a rock star, I am still giving this to her. Her work in the kitchen – it is art. The photos she takes to show the “art” she creates in the kitchen… and then she’s just funny. I would describe her blog as “delightful” and “lovely”… A plethora of recipes to choose from, all with pictures. One time she drew pictures on her eggs. See… funny. I adore Noble Pig, and I promise – after one click to her site, you will too.
-Maybe I should have made this 2 posts… *cracks knuckles*
*Ry at Arts & Dafts – On her “Etsy Wednesday” she posts charming finds… with links a plenty to take you to more lovely finds. Her site is a mix of things weaving the reader through her thoughts on words such as “Meh” (one of my favorite words, by the way), creative photography and just thoughts that are worth taking the time to read! And all bloggers know – not all blog-thoughts are “time-worthy” *wink*.
*Two Bald Dads – One of the dad’s (Ricardo) is a friend of mine from college. I don’t know the other dad, but he signs as -S… Anywho. They recently started this blog. Very recently. I am giving them this award for their blog-theme creativity. Not only a “dad” blog, but two dads… loving their families… puttin’ their values and priorities out there. It is awesome to see men loving their children and wives… and owning their baldness
*Brit at Running Stitch – From quilting to photogrpahy to running, Brit is alive with creativity. Her skills in quilting are enviable… Her work evokes gushes of emotion from me. I have tried quilting – on the most base level, and I admire her skill, patience and… creativity. Another reason I am drawn to her is our mutual interest in running. I tip my hat to her creative heart for organizing her own half-marathon (Run Turtle Run). She generously extended me an invitation to this invite-only event, regrettably (though I live close enough to have done it) I wasn not able to make it – this time
Anyway, Brit… you rock.
*Can’t Backspace – This blog has the most unique format ever. I just love the idea of having a blog in handwriting. That’s just plain creative. I doubt the author can do much with this award, but here it is anyway.
*Shannon at Red Barn Farm - Shannon is fairly new to the blog scene. She is a gal I met YEARS ago at a local MOPS group. I give Shannon this award for her creative skills on the farm. She grows vegetables and fruit… raises animals… does all the stuff to be able to eat the things she grows and raises. Can you tell I am not farm-savvy? She works very hard to tend to the many roles she must fill on her farm. She cans and pickles and even sells at a local farmers market. Applause to my dear friend Shannon for her creativity in nature and her creative efforts to help provide for her family.
