I am more confident in the kitchen than ever…

now that I have a new Confidence Apron

When my husband came home Monday night, one of the first things out of his mouth was, “I have a confession… … … I bought an album.” I said, “Before you go any further, it’s O.K. with me as long as it’s as cool as this… *saunters toward husband from behind the counter and twirls* … My new CONFIDENCE APRON!”

It’s amazing what a Confidence Apron will do for a timid stirrer… (and it’s amazing what Picnik can do for one’s complexion when editing one’s photos…I *heart* Picnik!)

And the finished product… Oh how a girl can rock the stove in the right kind of apron…

Are you wondering what “Confidence Apron” and I made for dinner??? Only the World’s Best Baked Potato Soup! That’s all! Potatoes… milk… bacon… celery… green onions… bacon… garlic… bacon… chicken… topped with cheddar cheese… My husband realized what was on the menu and asked, “Oh. Is that Baked Potato Soup, baby?” With a velvet whisper I baited him, “Yes it is baby…” Even just TALKIN’ ’bout food changes when “Confidence Apron” has my back.

I would like to give a shout-out to my very talented photographer and photo-shoot designer – my lovely 6 year-old daughter Olivia. I was just going to have her take a full-apron shot. But then she said, “Hey Mom, what if I take a picture of you COOOKING!” My. Gosh. My daughter is a flippin’ genius!

Fabulous apron and you look beautiful. Yum with the soup – loving these fall days.

  3. That is so fun – I love it…. Great soups as well – Welcome to Fall!!

Oooooooo! It’s time to break out the potato soup recipes! Yay!

Maybe it’s about time I get a confidence apron. Or an apron, period. I am a messy chef. And when I say “chef” I mean reluctant food maker.

It takes so long to prep food and it’s consumed so quickly, it’s rather disheartening. But if I had a confidence apron, well, then, my friend it would make it all worth it, now wouldn’t it?

Okay, the soup sounds delicious. You are going to email me the recipe. And the apron? That is haaaaawt.

  6. Rhi says:

Your confidence apron theme song is that one song from The Sound of Music about confidence. Okay?

(I wonder what that song is called? Off to look it up!)

  7. Lisa says:

    Hey – Love the Apron!!!
When is the little one going to start her own blog then, or is she just in training!!
Oh yeah, did that soup have bacon in it? :-)

I am so diggin that hawt apron! Must have, must get, a total need for me. In fact, I think Jesi would really think I am Kewl if I did. As it is, I am a Kewl, nerd, mom, who can totally rock out to John Denver and Neil Diamond. I did score some points on the Kewl scale by taking them to that concert though.

  9. D... says:

Look at you all confident! Very hawt!

Baked potato soup is my absolute favorite soup. I always thought it was hard to make. Is it the confidence apron that makes it seem so easy?

  10. Kathleen says:

Love the apron! My blogger buddy Sarah posted some pirate jokes the other day – I’ll point you to them later. You gotta have some pirate jokes when you’re wearing the confidence apron!

  11. Bubba's Sis says:

Girl, that confidence apron is HAWT! I want one, too! I don’t think it will help me much in the kitchen, but at least I’ll be HAWT like you!!

Love baked potato soup! There’s a tea room here that makes the BEST!

  12. dumblond says:

    Two questions.
One, where in the HELL did you get that apron?! It is way wicked!
And Two, does it come in big hippo ass size? Cause that would be me.

  13. Kristin Jag says:

You are sooo funny! I love the apron and the photo shoot! The soup sounds perfect for this weather!!

  14. Myra says:

Do they have a model that I could wear at my desk today? Cause that would be great. And are you sharing your recipe for the soup? It sounds amazing!

  15. Geoff says:

At least Paul confesses when he buys an album. I guess I should do that too. I usually try to hide it. :) So Kim, if you’re reading this, I bought an album this morning.

  16. Shannon says:

Girl look at you all pirate(d) out…you give a whole new meaning to pirate’s booty! You are the pirate. No recipe can take you hostage…no soup will scorch on you! May your booty be bountiful in your Hawt apron!

  17. Kim says:

That apron is HOT! Will you bring me some soup, I’ve been sick for days! I need some homemade soup.

  18. OHmommy says:

I need one of those. Perhaps it will help me cook more creatively. Or stir. Whatever. I need one!

  19. Tina says:

Lovin the rhinestones! Everything should be embellished with rhinestones. That alone is a confidence boost.
Maybe I need to pull out my old bedazzler (remember those?) and make me a confidence apron. I’ve been attempting bread every day for a week. Attempting. Not being successful unless you count hard-as-rock lumps that had my husband raising an eyebrow. I can bake pies like nobody’s business, but add yeast as an ingredient and its like kryponite to Superman.

Have you ever tried Jalapeno Potato Soup? We had it while on an Alaskan cruise this summer. yum. I’m normally not a big fan of jalapenos, but oh gosh, this soup is glorious!

  20. Lizulfisa says:

Oh.. oh! So instead of the Jolly Roger.. your the Jolly Blogger! Wait..that’s mine. I might want to use that. But it looks so good on you! Great pics, that is one skilled camera girl.

  21. rachel says:

You are just precious. I am hugely diggin’ on that apron.

  22. brit says:

Man if only I had know the secret! Confidence Apron. You’re the one.
