Happy 6th Blogiversary To Here!

Hi.

Jenny On The Spot here, and it’s my blogiversary. 6 years! It is also my husband’s birthday, but if I wrote about HIS birthday, and not my blogiversary, then this post would be about him and not Me, and that would be wrong. This is Jenny On The Spot, not Huz On The Spot.

I can’t betray Me now.

It’s not you him. It’s Me

No. Really.

So. Happy brithday, Huz.

Now.

Me.

The art of blogging has changed me. Or has it?

Or.

Regardless, clearly blogging has not turned me into a decider.

But it has made me a bit of a geek… Before entering the world of the social web, I would not have understood the Awesome of these earrings:

html earringsThese would make a great blogiversary present *ahem*…

If not for blogging, I would not have occasion to wear McDonald’s bags on my head:

Bag Heads

If not for the force of blogging, I probably would not see a potential story in almost every moment of everyday. Even a Cheetos on the bathroom floor could be a story…

cheetoh on bathroom floor

WHY ON EARTH IS A CHEETOS ON MY BATHROOM FLOOR?

#motherhood

Blogging made Twitter my comfy pillow in the land of social web… And instead of a street gansta, I am a Twitter gangsta, flashin mah #hashtag, yo!

Twitter

If not for blogging, I never would have looked twice at a box of New Moon inspired Sweethearts? But now?…

New Moon

You will always be Shark Boy to me…

Without blogging, I may not have discovered my near-twin-ness to the Jonas Brothers… I have titled this picture, The Jonas Brothers and Jenny On The Spot-fron. Sorry Zac, there’s a new chick in town.

If it wasn’t for blogging… how would my drawring career ever have gotten off the ground?

Drawrings

Because of blogging, if someone says “CSS”, I can at least say, “Yeah. *cracks neck* Cascading Style Sheets…” I can take on a little HTML, and I have been known to  take on a <div> or two. And win.

This whole “blogging thing”? It has opened up a new world for me. Like videos!

It helped create The Mom Squad!

The Mom Squad5 local moms rollin’ and patrollin’ in Kitsap County, yo!

I started this blog a few months before I found out my Lucy was on her way. It has been a journey of discovering a voice, finding community at a time my family was going through major change and crisis (and not just the surprise pregnancy)… In the beginning it provided connection at a lonely time. It opened a world of camaraderie, support and laughter… during a pretty difficult season.

Today… the blogging community is still a place I find camaraderie, support, laughter… and my much sought after flattery ;)

I have “met” countless people who have added immeasurable amounts of goodness… People who have challenged me, stretched me, encouraged me, inspired me… exhausted me… Other bloggers have made me laugh and cry… But the comments. There’s a saying, “Bloggers do it for the comments”. Absolutely.

But seriously… YOUR comments have lifted me… a light in dark hours… I cannot recount the time after time after time I have been made to LOL.

This journey has given me laughter. Joy. A place I belong. I have a wonderful and blessed In Real Life… but I can’t imagine life without my interwebz. The extra tier that added things IRL just can’t. The random comment I read when I’m alone, and though no one is there to LOL with me, I fall over and talk to the computer about how funny that was. The 2 a.m. posting of silliness or of heartache or of frustration. The risk of opening up, and the blessing of being real.

6 years.

Thank you all for playing with me. Telling me of my Awesome, even though we all know I am just a regular gal trying to get by. Insecure, scared, overcompensating, lame, random, wordy… but real, sensitive, glittery and in love with you.

I really am. I would never write a private journal. I am a social being. And I absolutely love that you come regularly, randomly, once-ly… I love when you comment, but understand if you don’t. I can’t stand my “comment voice”. I should comment more, but I often just read, giggle or nod and think, “I’ll just sound stupid.”

That’s stupid, becuause I have never thought anyone has sounded stupid. Except that one meany. But I deleted the comment.

Blogging has also given me power.

And it brought my creative back. Sexy back, sexy schmack… Blogging brought my Creative back.

And I am blessed. Ya’ll are AWESOME! Stinkin’ beautiful! *sniff*… Thank you for adding to my life and letting me be a part of yours. Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

congrats on the anniversary and do something awesome for your man today

  3. If I ever find a Cheeto on the floor, it means I mowed through a bag like a badger and one, in an attempt to save its life, dived into my bra to escape me, then fell out when I took it off at the end of the day! You should hear the confetti falling from my bra when I’ve gorged on M&Ms!
    ;)

Happy, happy anniversary (this reminds me to call my sister, too, for it’s her wedding anniversary today, too)!!
