Where in the world is Jennyonthespot?

Last January…

Paul and I were in NYC. I’m in the mood to remember the good times… A walk in the park (Central Park, that is)… A view of the city from Central Park… Me, crashing the Today Show… Proof we got into an SNL dress rehearsal… The Staten Island Ferry terminal… Me, glowing by the lights of the Times Square… And the one pic we took in the theater when we went to see The Producers on Broadway (starring…….. Tony Danza).

We’re going on bear hunt…

We’re going to catch a big one. What a beautiful day. We’re not scared…

Uh-oh! Snow! White, white snow (for hours and hours)! We can’t drive over it (to pick up Daddy from the ferry). We can’t drive through it (to pick up Daddy from the ferry). Oh-no! We have to take advantage of the very kind (and superiorly smarter people) who will push our new van (sans 4WD) to the top of the hill blanketed in the white, white snow!

**These very kind people (who came out to sled on the hill, not aid dumb-decision-makers such as myself) pushed the van as I expertly turned the wheel left, then right, then left, then right, then left, then right (and so on and so forth etc., etc., etc…). Who knew turning the steering wheel so much and so deliberately could cause ones abs to nearly seize (and sweat glands to fully engage)? Now you know too… I am so bringing my snowy-hill heroes some cookies. Now, back to the story…**

We’re going on a home hunt, we’re heading downhill now, what a treacherous road, we’re not scared. I’ll keep in low gear, while we’re on the downhill. And hope to make it up, up… … …  no…. nnnnnot quite. With Livi in her sparkly pumps, and Lucy in her Easter shoes, we’ll hop, hop, and squish the last 50 feet to our warm house.  Quick! Into the house. Close the door. Flip the switch to the fireplace (I know, I know - “cheaters”). Under a warm blanket… WE’RE NOT GOING ON A BEAR HUNT AGAIN!

And now I will end my very poor twist on one of the most wonderful children’s books…ever. Um, have committed plagiarism?

Now, it’s ime to bake some cookies and hope Direct TV comes back online in time to watch SNL tonight…

If you have cookie seeds…

THEN cookies could grow on trees.

Here’s how it went down:

Olivia: I wish cookies could grow on trees, but you’d have to have, to have, to have, to…
Joel: Yeah, you’d have to have cookies seeds.
Olivia: Yeah…
Both: Giggle, giggle, giggle…

I pinkie swear - rides in the car bring out the best conversations…

NYC

Been there.

Just got home late last night. Couldn’t have done it without my friends Katie and Bart (Katie’s the one whose been dragging me to things like the Seattle Marathon… you should see what she’s doin’ to our summer calendars - she’s crazy - wicked crazy!).

No, K & B didn’t foot the bill, but they took the kids - all 3 of ‘em! That’s worth a million bucks for sure. Did I mention it was for 5 days and 4 nights! Saints, I tell ya, saints… K, B, E, B, M, J - each one of you are stinkin’ beautiful!

There is so much to write , and plenty of pics I’m gonna post… But here are some highlights from the trip:

McDonald’s in Times Square. 1 a.m. We were almost part of a sit-in.

Walking in Central Park

The Producers

SNL dress rehearsal

Walking, walking, walking… and never having to maneuver a stroller

Sleeping until I just woke up

My television debut on the Today Show

The subway

Walking with coffee and no stroller

Taxi drivers

Barneys, Saks, and Madison Avenue… sticker shiz-ock. The only sale that could’ve brought out my wallet was a 99.5% off sale. Serious. As a heart attack.

Buyin’ hot dogs and a coke from Jimmy in Times Square (say it like a New Yorker will ya already, I’m tiyad)

I missed my babies. It’s good to be home. But it was a great trip. Just awesome. I don’t think it could’ve been better.
