Make Me Laugh Monday

It’s Make Me Laugh Monday! These thing made me laugh. I hope they make YOU laugh… because My blog has nothing to do with Me… it is ALL ABOUT YOU :)

OK. I have something for the boys and the girls. I will take care of the fellas first, since they struggle with paying attention very long at all. This is why men maybe shouldn’t own action figures:

Hilarious. What’s even funnier - I was jealous that I didn’t come up with this first. Yep. Forget the dead-forest-creature… this is stinkin’ hilarious. I want to be the one to come up with that stuff. I’m sorry. I am not completely right in the head. I know this….

My friend Lisa actually posted about this picture the other day. I hate it when she beats me to the good stuff… I prolly had it before you, I was just waiting for Make Me Laugh Monday. Nah.

Ok, now, for the ladies. It’s an audio clip from NPR. I came across this hilarious clip when I visited Crazy For Trying this morning. It’s about finding alternate sources of power… You’ve heard of solar power. But have any of you heard of Mammary power???

Bored?

Contrary to popular belief, I seldom find that I get to explore the feeling/condition/sensation of “feeling bored”. In fact, of all the feelings I experience as a woman who has had her saliva tested and is certifiably hormonally imbalanced… the condition of “boredom” is prolly the one condition I suffer from the least not at all. But I have found that you don’t have to be bored to spend lots and lots of time on mindless entertainment and visual stimulation. Jen, Lisa… shutup. I believe The Professionals have labeled it “denial”.

I visited Does This Blog make Us Look Fat?, and found a fun, new time waster obsession! Wordle.net. Ya go there. Then ya plug in your URL or type in a bunch of text. Then it throws the words together. Then you can play with fonts and colors and…

Ooooh….shiny….

Oh, sorry. I just got distracted by another Wordle… I think YOU should make a Wordle. Wow… look at all the pretty colors… Look, I just did another. The one above was created from plugging in my URL. For the one below I copied the text from one of my posts about my son:

Confession - Olympic Dreams

I have admitted this to friends, but to admit this in a wider forum fells kinda silly. However, ya’ll know I want to keep it real wit’cha so here goes…

I have always wanted to swim in the Olympics. As long as I can remember.

I started “competing” in my local summer swim club (not a year-round club) when I was 5… maybe 6. I kept swimming each summer until I was 18. It wasn’t until I entered the 13-14 age group that I started doing well - at least in the small community I was part of. It was during that time I began beating (finishing before, not assaulting) the girls who I had never been able to gain victory over in the 8 years before.

Happy 4th!

Hi all! Happy Fourth of July! Be safe. Be sane. Be real. Yo.

The weather looks good here today. Much better than yesterday. In fact, the clouds were so dark, and the rain so strangely heavy, it drove my 6 year-old daughter to inquire, “Mom. Was yesterday the last day of summer?” It’s nice that it appears Summer came back to us… granted, much cooler than other places, but for me - 70 degrees is perfect… perfect.

Enjoy the long weekend!

Oh my gosh, friends! I totally forgot to tell you what happened yesterday. I was at the gym, pumpin’ iron-n-such. I had a brief conversation with a gal who is clearly cooler and more important than me.

Skillz

So. Yesterday.

I am at the bike shop. Getting Mz. Thang/Butta/Fastlikedawind/Lollipop/Buffy all synced-up. We raised the handle bars and worked on my form. I still need lots of work. Apparently I am tense. Who knew? But that’s not the story.

The story is:

I was all chattin’ with a gal who was getting syced-up with her bike too.

Her nearly 60 year-old-self was all, “So what events are you doing.”

I was all, “Oh, an Olympic distance tri.”

She was all, “Oh, when I did an Olympic, I….yadda, yadda, yadda…”

And I was all, “You already did one? Awesome! What’s next?”

She was like, “I am thinking about a half.”

I was like, “A half-IRON?” I picked my jaw off the floor.

She, “Mmm-hmmm”

I think I bowed to her.

Help me name my awesome road bike!

It is with joy in my heart and more debt on the plastic that I announce to the world - I got a road bike!!!

My other bike is a mountain bike/cruiser… I added road tires to help increase the speed just a touch. My Cruiser has taken me through 5 sprint-distance triathlons - since I got bit by the tri bug 7 years ago. My big ‘ol cruiser holds a special place in my heart… *kiss, kiss*

However, it is time to move on. To slim down. To get legit. I am planning on biking further, and to haul my cruiser 24+ miles at a time - is just… medieval! I am way too “retro” for “medieval”! It took a little financial creativity, but I worked it out…

Here is my new carbon-vision of all loveliness:

Isn’t she just lovely??? I snuggle her frame, sing her a lullaby, kiss her gear shifters, and air up her adorable skinny little tires before I tucked her into bed at night. *SWOON*

I rode her 20 miles on Saturday and 12 miles this morning. I cut 7.5 minutes of my 12 mile route - all because of this new beauty in my life. I Luh. Her. So. Mauch.

But I would like some input. I have a few names I’ve been tumbling about, but I said to myself, I said, “Jenny, I bet your hot online friends would love to have a say in naming the new love of your life.” Then I said back to myself, “Yeah, Jenny! You’re right! As. Always.”

So here I am - presenting a few options. I was going to try out a poll program from Vizu, but it doesn’t seem to be working. Instead of getting all-fancy, let’s just go “old school” - comments!

June 2008 Search Keyphrase Wrap-Up

Well folks. It’s that time of the month again… Out of 345 search keyphrases, here are the most interesting 42ish. I was only going to list, like… 10. But I didn’t. I listed 42ish. I know. I’m crazy. An INCREDIBLE new blog!

Uh! Mah! Gah! My sister-in-law started a blog!

*** breathing in paper bag ***

She is so friggin’ cool-tastic! I mean, if we weren’t SISTER-in-laws, it’d be like we were sisters or somethin’. I mean, it’s almost freakish how similar we are. Freakish.

Like, I named my son Joel, then 3 years later she named her son Cole. It’s crazy how we have the same taste like that. I mean - you should hear it when our families get together. I call “Joel!!!!!” and Cole comes running. Someone will call “COLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” and instead Joel tears into the room. Our family is so much fun, and most of it is because of Kerry.

At least that’s what SHE thinks. I know that if it wasn’t for me, life for all of “them” would play out in shades of brown. But shhhhh, don’t tell her I said that. I like to let her think it’s all about her, when it really is all about me - JENNYonthespot. Shhhhh, it’s our little secret…

Anywho… Kerry has started a new blog. And, I must admit - it really is genius. Pure genius. From the look… to every letter of it’s content. Genius. Sh to the izzle. I’ll give her that. I will give her that…

More about my weekend in The Big Apple

The view from our room - if you stand on the balcony and look left… Times Square-ish!

When we were there, we really only ate 2 meals each day…. brunch and dinner. It was such a treat to sleep in and not have to make breakfast or fill sippy cups or anything! Look at those happy, well-rested faces!

I had an omelette and a very satisfying mocha. Prolly one of the best I’ve had the pleasure to drink. I don’t know if it was the coffee, the chocolate or the fact that we got a table right on the street… I felt so “city”.
