Grow the Life You Want – A Giveaway from Mindbloom!

My Tree I tried. I really did.

I resist resolutions like I resist chocolate. Of course, I always give in.

Actually, I didn’t make “official” resolutions this year, but I am taking steps… I’m becoming intentional. I’m taking deliberate (albeit small) actions… all in an effort to, well, to grow the life I want.

It just so happens that this effort is lining up with the new year — thus giving all these efforts a “resolutiony” feel, ya know?

See the above picture? It is the current picture of my tree at a new goal tracking website called Mindbloom. Also, this is the company with which my husband works. If you peek at Mindbloom, you will probably swoon and coo, cuz it’s so perty. My hubs did that.

Why aren’t all the leaves on my tree GREEN??? Because I am human, and I don’t make my bed everyday, and I don’t drink all the water I am supposed to each day. You see, these are just a couple of a few simple goals I have set for myself on Mindbloom. I didn’t make my bed today, but I did yesterday! The more goals I meet, the healthier my tree looks. If checking a task off one’s list isn’t enough motivation… maybe making one’s tree a healthy green is! I love watching my leaves get green. And if I just can’t make a certain goal fit my life, I can always prune!

Since I gots the hook-up, so do you! I have a little giveaway to offer! Mindbloom would like to offer a one year subscription (a $39 value!) to one person here! That is pretty cool. I’m worried all of my leaves will be brown…especially since my Mii looks like a weeble wobble, but it might help!

Oh man, Jules, does your Mii have love handles? Because mine does. It’s sad. Hook me up with a tree, my friend! What a great motivator!

I think goal tracking is essential for staying motivated and being held accountable. Especially if you tell people about it…then you have to do it or you risk people making the late 90’s gesture of the “L” to the forhead when you turn your back on them:)!! P.S. (and this comment is in no way a suck up to win the prize)…the Mindbloom website is uber peaceful. I want to crawl inside it on a bad day!

I don’t know if I could handle that kind of pressure. “Make sure you meet your goals or THIS TREE WILL DIE!” Goodness…
The site is pretty cool. Maybe I need that kind of thing to finally stick with some of my projects till the end…

I would love to give Mindbloom a go. I think I will have a half green half brown tree and a few crunchy, crumbled leaves lying on the grass, lol. But I think it would be fun ‘cept I guess I better come up with some goals then eh?

I think goal tracking is important b/c it helps you break the big picture down into smaller, manageable goals. I am working to earn a trip from my company this year and by breaking the requirements down into exactly what I need to do each month, week and day (okay, so I’m a little neurotic, lol), it helps me to see that it is attainable! And I love me a good check-off list!

I would love to use MindBloom! If it can help me, I can help anyone! LOL! I find that setting goals is a valuable resource however, I get so caught up in so many things (in life 19 kids, hubby, school, blogging, etc…) that sometimes it is hard to keep track. I think this might be the tool to help me achieve success in my life!

Did I type 19 kids?? LOL! I have 10. Whew, I can only handle them. LOL!

You have a great site here. I have a site myself where people come from around the world to debate on popular issues. I’d like to exchange links with you to help spread some traffic around between us. If you would like to, please leave a comment under my “Compadres” page letting me know when you’ve added my link and I’ll return the favor.

    Keep up the good work.

I think I need an actual drill sergeant to come kick my butt to get some goals accomplished….not sure online humiliation will do it…

Cool site, soothing music, fantastic intentions, but the application can become its own biggest stumbling block. It’s missing any tie-in with self-created rewards for accomplishing any of the stated intentions. It assumes that “organization” is the obstacle to focusing on well-being rather than the need for structures to support one’s intention that go beyond the weak force of “will power.”

It sends an email reminder (nice), but all the reminder says is THAT you have intentions, not what they are for the particular day. As beautiful as the UI and music are, the actual USE of the site needs to be exponentially simpler. For greater raw utility, it might make sense to have a full blown UI on the web, and a stripped down version for tracking, and/or a mobile version that allows access and update closer to where and when it would matter (to me).

One has to select the particular days of the week one intends to do each task, and there is no provision for “3 times a week” or “once every two weeks,” or “at least one of the following 3 items.” For example, if my goal is to increase my networking activities, on a weekly basis I want to declare that I will either go to an event, write a blog post, or perform a follow-up with a prospect. Any one of them will do for “credit.”

Lastly, there did not appear to be a provision for the inter-relationship between goals, or to have deeper levels of hierarchy within goals.

I truly wish you and your product well in the future, and I have even pointed a few people to it to check it out. For myself, I would love to play with it longer, mostly to see the product grow, and perhaps contribute to its improvement. Something like a free year trial would provide you with feedback like this, and me with an opportunity to help shape a more functional tool for myself and my clients.
