…and if anyone can capture heart and passion and zest in a still frame – my friend Mark is da man! Mark is the husband of mah girl Lisa. If any of ya’ll need a photographer, you need Mark. He even has a photoblog – Photomatopoeia. Mark, you have skillzzz, yes, I spelled that with THREE Zs!

Here’s Eric & Joni. You say, “Bring it”? I say, “It was already brought-en!”

Paul (the Hubs) and I went with Mark and Lisa and our other couple-friends Eric and Joni (see above) to a fundraiser for a local private school. There was the magnetic theme of “Funk”, so I had little resistance to the invitation to go. The band that played was a good fit for the theme of “funk” for they played… FUNK. They also oooooooozzzzed fffffunk.

I totally hopped in front of Mark’s camera… even my baubbly necklace is floating… I am so shy. It’s painful.

Here I am with my friend Melissa. We were werkin’ our magic in the recording studio…

Before the party I had a BIG decision to make… what should I wear. *light bulb* The floor-length polyester dress my mom made and wore in the 70’s! The dress had already “been there” and “done that”, so I looked to her for my strength… Of course Lisa and I spent hours a little while getting ready. I may have made her pee her pants…. or I may not have. I do know she made me *snort*. We did manage to pull ourselves together though:
Mark did not take this pic, my iPhone did… Alright! *spritz-spritz* Let’s go!
It was a super-fun night. I actually did not get to dance with the fevor I am accustomed to. I have been nursing tendinitis in my left Achilles tendon, and needed to take it easy. You can’t tell by the pics, but I really did “lay low”. Imagine what Mark might have captured had I been totally “on”. I bet you’d have liked to see me defy gravity. Maybe next time. I have a marathon on Sunday, and as much as I love dancing I want to check that little goal off my bucket list ;) Here’s one last picture. Another iPhone picture… what’s a funky party without face paining? Thank you Joni for spotting me 3 bucks so I could get mah paint on too!

Keep up on the ridiculous, the insightful, the always digressive…

Aw! Looks like such a fun evening! I’m glad you, ahem, took it easy. I don’t want anything to get in the way of you working your magic in your tennie shoes!
Oooooh girl! Get on with yo’ bad self! FYI, that necklace is slammin’.
So much fun. So much. Until that mojito gave me a Chuck Norris round house kick to the forehead.. like.. I think I have bruise. I was unable to dance to ….*holds head in hands whilst sobbing* SUPERSTITION by my man Stevie of the Wonder. I tried it.. but oh.. the spins.. not the good kind. We just have to do this again sanz mojitos. But so much fun all the same. We did look funktacular!
Absolutely love funk!!! Looks totally fun, and now…I must, I must, I must work on my blog!
Looks like you all had a lot of fun.
Fun times! I cannot wait to cheer you on Sunday – remotely, of course. But I’ll be with you in spirit!

What a dress! I think my closet may be jealous.
