Welcome to my new series, Note to Self. In this series I will simply post the mental notes to myself I usually leave and lose in my mind. Without further ado, my very first…

When your 6 year old daughter asks to listen to music “with a girl singing” - don’t play Madonna. Songs titled “Into the Groove” and “Lucky Star” seem innocent enough - until you watch your daughter lip-syncing the lyrics, “…touch my body…”. That’s just wrong. Very. Wrong.

Keep up-to-date on the insane, the insightful, and the whatever…

Ha! The mental image has me cracking up. FYI, “My Humps” is not about a camel.
Sorry, couldn’t resist. :P
hahahahaha! Yeah, I struggle with the same thing. Even early Beatles songs don’t sound as innocent when your little one is singing them.
Oh well. At least they have an appreciation for the classics.
Yeah, were all those 80’s songs that dirty when we were singing them way back when? I KNOW I was singing along with “Centerfold” and “Jack & Diane” when I was 13 or 14 years old.
Daughter used to love to sing “Genie In A Bottle” when she was younger - “gotta rub me the right way…..” Yeah. So wrong. Little Son’s favorite song when he was little? “You Shook Me All Night Long”. Yeah. Actually, it’s still his favorite song. He’s 11.
So have to agree with you on that one!
Oh my goodness you are right…that is wrong and disturbing haha!
Oh geez, thank goodness my boys only like “Who let the Dogs Out”!
i have been wanting to do a post on this for a while…my daughter calls it ’songs that you shouldn’t sing in front of your parents.’ they include ‘feels like the first time’ and ’slow ride’. i’m going to post about this soon. you beat me to the punch.
I love this only because it makes me feel better. My son has a fascination with Fergie. For the a time, he had a little dance routine to My Humps. Complete with the Lady Lumps touch & high pitched singing voice to let us know a girl sings it. So, so wrong on so many levels.
