Olivia cried early this morning, “The Tooth Fairy didn’t come!!!”
That darned tooth had been hanging for weeks. The Tooth Fairy SHOULD NOT have missed her delivery. Plus, Olivia just broke her wrist - the Tooth Fairy should never miss visiting the 6-year-old-girl with lopsided ponytails and a broken wrist.
Joel added from across the hall, “Yeah! Hey MOM! Remember the time the Tooth Fairy forgot to come for FOUR NIGHTS?!!!”
Yeah. She remembers. Maybe the Tooth Fairy should start depositing the cash straight into the kids’ therapy fund.
Can’t you just tell her that you saw on the news that a whole kindergarten class in West Virginia lost all their teeth in one day eating popcorn balls so the tooth fairy was a bit overwhelmed. Or, better yet, tell her the tooth fairy fell off the monkey bars, broke a wing, and can’t fly for 6 weeks. Yeah… go with that, Livi will understand. By the way, the best mom award for May 20th, 2008 goes to……..somebody else. love you.
That Tooth Fairy doesn’t always make it by here on the first night, either. She’s very busy, you know. Busy, busy, busy. No worries - she’ll get to you eventually.
And at my house each night she didn’t stop by more money was added. $1 per night. I could’ve added braces to those missing teeth for how many nights that stupid fairy didn’t show up! And I was always amazed at the lies I could come up with to cover for her (or him)
I am so glad I’m not the only one with a dead beat tooth fairy.
Oh nooooo! Dude, the tooth fairy is downright anal about arriving on time around here. I don’t know how he manages. Yes, “he”. I’ve seen him.
Yeah… I still owe Oldman for 4 teeth!!! He told me, “You know, you need to work on the tooth fairy gig before Gremlin starts loosing teeth or he’ll need therapy.” {…snarl…}
I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one with a ToothFairy problem. This is one of the things that I really don’t enjoy about being a parent (among many).
My tooth fairy has teeth for clothes and sometimes she doesn’t need another tooth for her skirt right away! This story works.
My daughter has 4 teeth waiting for the tooth fairy too. And she lost them, oh, about a year ago. My son, on the other hand, just lost a tooth a couple of weeks ago. The tooth fairy remembered THAT one.
Yeah, my girl can go to therapy with your kids. ;)
