Oh people. People! Why was my mother’s day happy? Well… for starters - if you have been here before you can see the BEAUTIMOUS changes on this here site. My very talented, creatively inspired, staying-up late to tweak and perfect, loving, adoring and cutie-pie husband… redesigned my site!
When I saw it - I tenderly touched my laptop screen, and squeak-whispered, “I luh her…”
I’m not kidding. You know, with babies - that feeling you get - I believe we adults say, “She’s so cute… I just want to eat her up!”. THAT is how I felt about my new site - except I think I said, “I just want to lick her!” Ya know, like a berry-flavored Tootsie Pop. Seriously. Yum.
He knows me. The red shoes - Me in my sparkly Converse. The dandelions - my kids. The patch of earth - my spot here on the world wide woven interweb… The brown and green and blue - favorite color palate. Yum. Yum. Yum. I just want to sit on front of my computer screen and swoon all day.
Not only that, but I virtually abandoned the family for the greater part of Saturday. I rose at 5:45 a.m. to squeeze in a 10 mile run (only 3 more long-runs until the half-marathon!) before hopping a ferry and having lunch with a fabulous group of ladies from Seattle Mom Blogs. I felt so… gosh… urban. No… “Free”… yeah, “free”. I walked onto the ferry, walked through downtown Seattle, bought some new make-up, and stresslessly meandered my way to the restaurant. I ate a yummy lunch, enjoyed wonderful conversation, browsed the city (sans - stroller and sippy cups). See - just me and my new make-up:
Granted, after I left the lunch, my runner’s tummy kicked in (my tummy often feels very upset after long-runs). I spent much of my walk back to the ferry hoping I wouldn’t need to find a bathroom on a moment’s notice. Once safely on the ferry - I saw these things:
Kwafee - love. her. Also - a sail boat. Not pictured - the back of my eyelids. I spent much of the 35 minute ferry ride crashed out on a sterile ferry bench - snoozing, drooling… I’m sure I looked lovely. This could NOT have happened with children.
ON Mother’s Day my children brought me breakfast in bed… strawberry-frosted Shredded Wheat, a banana and a berry Talking Rain sparkling water- my favorite drink… The kids also brought me the labors of their love:
Look - it spells “JENNY”… Wow - I am awesome!
Olivia loves me “upside down swirls”!
Despite the complaining at dinner, Joel still thinks I am a good cook…
Plus, he loves me to PEACES :
Actually, the girls worked on this during my Mother’s Day afternoon nap. I am a napper. I confess.
I love the hearts on the nails, and that Olivia spelled Mother’s “Muthers”. Phonetically - it’s the very best way!
*GUSH*
Dinner? A Peanut butter Oreo Blizzard.
*more gushing*

What an awesome way to spend your day! And I’M gushing because I’ve met another napper!!!!! I’m a napper!!!!! Can I just say that nap does NOT equal lazy? Thank you. Had to get that off my chest.
Happy Belated Mother’s Day to you, my friend! So glad I “met” you!
Dude! You had an awesome Mother’s day weekend! Good on ya….
I would pay serious money if I could nap. It really sucks to want to be a napper and can’t!!!
That is great. Happy Mother’s Day!
What a nice day!!!
** There is NO Sephora here. I had to go all the way to Athens to buy tweezers!
The blog is fantastic! Your creative hubby could earn some serious side-cash doing this…wow! Happy MD, a day late. I won’t say and a dollar short, because that’s too cliche. And I’m far beyond a dollar short. Shoot if a dollar was all I was short, I’d be at Target right about now! xo
