Alright already! I did it I did it! It’s true!
No. I didn’t eat this entire plate of Oreos… nor am I saying I didn’t want to. It was “bring some cookies to the awards night thing” at Awana last week. It is no secret that I love Oreos. I could have sent the bag of Oreos and saved a paper plate. However, I didn’t want to send an OPENED bag of Oreos. Due to the fact I have very little restraint when it comes to the Power of The Oreo, the bag was opened and missing cookies before the event. And a mother’s share (7) cookies were ingested with much delight.
This post is not actually about Oreos.
It’s about my new nose ring, but I can’t post a picture (yet) of the nose ring… camera issue - dead battery. Also, I haven’t posted any pics in a few posts and it feels a bit boring around here.
The news: My friend Lisa and I headed to a local body graffiti and puncture establishment… And. We. Both. Got. Our. Noses. Pierced. Last night.
I know, I just gasped too. There is a great story - all the details are yet to come. I am wiped out and want to tell this story right (along with The Blozulfog). Also - I can’t really tell this story well without pictures and my camera is dead and… did I mention I am wiped out?
I know you have questions, perhaps I can give a few details:
- it barely hurt… “uncomfortable” would be more the term I’d use
- I didn’t know it would hurt so little, so the fear of the unknown was far more painful
- I had a HUGE zit form mere hours before the event - just above the piercing site
- it is very cute, so is Lisa’s… cute
- I feel it in there, but have confused the feeling for a booger. Picking the nose ring like it were a booger- not so much a good plan - too much?
- Olivia does not like it.
Last but not least, Daddy… I’m sorry. And I’m not kidding. It’s pierced. Of all your children… why me? I am the most predictable and unadventurous… You know I love you…

It’s like a little jewel on the most beautiful woman I’ve ever known. (and did I mention.. grrrowwwellll!)
what a great husband to leave that sweet (and playful) comment. Good for you to actually have the courage to get it done. i think those tiny stud nose rings are fabulous. edgy with a bit if sweetness!
WHA? You are so frickin’ rad. Seriously. My new hero. I don’t think I’m cool enough to hang with you, girlfriend.
YOU ROCK!!!! Dude! I didn’t think you would! I’m in awe! I’m jealous! Can’t wait to see pics. Hubby’s kinda funny too.
I am so proud of you!! You rock! Can’t wait to see a pic!
I think the nose-ring-feeling-like-a-booger would bother me….that would take some getting used to for sure. I wonder how many times I’d try to pick it before I learned my lesson?
Where’s the picture? Where? Where???????????????????? Glad it didn’t hurt.
Okay, where to start? #1. I’m with you on the Oreos — and have your seen the “Limited Edition” Strawberry Milkshake Oreos? Soooooo worth going off the diet for and #2. I am a grown woman (why I have the need to add that, I have no idea) and I actually asked my dad if he would freak if I got a nose piercing. It is so against whatever image people have of me that he just laughed. And then he did get a little freaked when I didn’t tell him I was kidding. And then he looked as though he was going to throw up. I just want one of those teeny jewel-like studs. They are so exotic looking! If I knew my Calm One would react like your husband, I would do it in a heartbeat. I can’t wait to see pics of yours. And obviously, your hubby is WAY COOLER than mine . . .
YEAH! We did it! No regrets….but then, church IS tomorrow. I don’t know how well this will go over with my church peeps. I am hoping that since the majority of them are WAY ahead of me in years, that their aging vision will prevent them from distinguishing my body art. Dudes… Jenny was SO BRAVE. Nervous…. trembling, but she went first. She rocks. Wicked cute nose. Wicked.
YOU TOTALLY ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go!
Words of advice:
Don’t get a cold right now! Don’t! That’s what happened to me… got a cold, couldn’t get rid of it, my piercing got infected, and it hurt too much to try to get the earing back in. The hole in your nose will close up a lot faster then the holes in your ears. Hate to put a downer on it all - but really… infected nose hole not so good.
