I feel so dumb right now. It’s bad enough that I am sincerely excited. It’s bad enough that I am SO gonna record it. But, I’ve hit a new low. How juvenile? … Blogging about a boy band that’s not a boy band is a man band? There’s no way to make it sound O.K.
I have come across a few NKOTB “fan blogs” and have thought such judgmental things about “those people”. But here I am… spreadin’ the word… In my defense - this isn’t a crush thing. It’s a music thing. I know. I know. It is bubble-gum pop! Pop. Pop & skillz…. not so much. However, if one really thinks about it - how many years did I spend inhaling Aqua Net fumes? Who knows how many brain cells were sacrificed to secure my bangs into acceptable tidal wave form and height all those years…

I’d call this a mid-life-curiosity-thing. It is a “Like, I soooooo saw them at Grad Nite ‘89!!!” thing. It is a “Do you really think they’re gonna sing ‘Hangin’ Tough’?” thing. I mean really, do you think they’ll sing that song? Seriously. Really. I mean. I know the moves, and I just can’t imagine seeing grown men swinging their arms…

Oh my heck. Did you just watch that? I need to make amends. Here I was… all criticizin’ these grown men for bustin’ old school moves I don’t even know that they’re gonna bust. Meanwhile, have you seen ME dance. I’m ashamed. A grown woman. I didn’t even known how NKOTB my 35-year-old woman moves are. I. Am. So. Con. Fused. Is this Am I cool or tragic?

You are cool. Totally Rad. I got equally excited about a television appearance of Duran Duran. I sincerely hope NKOTB has aged better than the boys of DD did. I was devestated. DEV-E-STAT-ED.
Who is like soooooo excited for the NKOTB to show us some moves on May 16th!!?? Shall we start the countdown….

Oh Jenny girl, you are not alone. I was so pathetic I ended up calling in sick to watch the show…and it will only get better next month! I may have to request the day off as a vacation! I was giddy the day my friend called to tell me they will be touring, I felt that tingly can’t-contain-myself-trouble-breathing-over-the-top giddyness. Suddenly I’m 14 again. And the best part? The teeny tiny snippit they played sounded GOOD! I can’t wait to hear the new stuff, hopefully they still have The Right Stuff! BTW, Donny said they will sing the old stuff & answered the question, they will dance. Let there be light! Or better yet, let there be DANCING! (Side note, I have seen you dance, you are fun. You are unique and you attract people like fireflies attract children. You’re amazing!)
