Am I a lucky girl or what? I get to be a part of Jen Singer’s book blog tour… or blog book tour… yeah - that! I get to review her newest book: You’re A Good Mom (and your kids aren’t so bad either): 14 Secrets to Finding Happiness Between Super Mom and Slacker Mom.
I first “met” Jen when I happened upon a blog she wrote awhile back - No Frills Women… One read and I was hooked… since then I’ve followed her around, but not too close. I’m no stalker. At least I’d never admit it. Recently I joined in on the social community she created (at Ning) - check it out: here or click on the badge over in my sidebar…
So, imagine little ‘ol me yesterday when I went to my big red mailbox, and found…
That “Jenny Ingram”… that’s me. Lil’ ‘ol me… getting mail from an author - a real-live PUBLISHED author! She’s a mom, she is downright funny… and man do I feel like I scored!
I ripped that envelope open and…
and..
Not only was there a book,
but…
It. Was. Signed! And…
There were goodies! Lemme tell ya’ll… this Jen Singer knows how to speak to a Mutha. The girl completed the package! Here, this is how the Book Announcement read:
Here’s a baby favor just for you. You’ll find a signed copy of my new book “You’re a Good Mom (and Your Kids Aren’t So Bad either).” Read it in the tub, and everyone will wonder why you’re giggling in there.
There’s also a bar of handmade Hawaiian Malama soap, made from oatmeal, grapefruit and Litsea essentail oils, courtesy of Kona Natural Soap. malama means “being taken care of”, and what mom couldn’t use a little “touch of Aloha” at the end of the day?
And, there’s a “Momma needs a Time-Out door hanger to put on your bathroom doorknob. Hopefully, your kids can read.
Finally, there’s your very own rubber ducky, which no doubt will end up in the toy box by tomorrow. Buthey, I tried.

So. What’s next? Well, I need to figure out how to get the book tour graphic into my sidebar. THEN, I gots ta read myself a book! I already peeked and darn-near couldn’t put it down. Can I tease you with some of my favorite chapter/secret titles?
- Super Mom is Faking It
- Your Kid’s Birthday Party Isn’t Your Coming-Out Celebration
- Don’t Let the Youth Sports Cartel Run Your Life
- If You Think You’re a “Cool Mom”, Your Kids Think You’re a Pushover
- Don’t Share Your Kid’s Quality Time with Your Blackberry (this is the chapter I peaked at… good stuff.)
A little more… I get to ask Jen questions! I’ll ask and she’ll answer just form me - just for this here humble blog. My problem - I am as inquisitive as a really uninquisitive person. I have an idea or two, but let me know if any questions come to your mind - I welcome help of the inquisitive kind…

Well that sounds fun, I look forward to your review.
You are beyond cool. I bow to you.
