I promise

I won’t always write about my dancing shoes, rapping, breakdancing, Vanilla Ice, and Run-D.M.C. I prizzzomise.

But, Peeps… my Internet… I found another breakdancing vizideo. You know I like to get my lernin’ on when it comes to dance moves, and I did me summa that researchin’… so as to be addin’ some fresh moves to my groove-vault. Yo. I am currently working on a few floor moves, but rest assured, no hip-bruising moves just yet. I am working on wrist strength - I gotta be able to support my full body weight on one palm.

Are you laughing yet? I am killin’ myself here… One wrist. This body. Sha right! And another thing - I’ve been noticing one does not see many home-girls bustin’ a move on the cardboard. I wonder if has to do with “the sistas” gettin’ in the way. Heehee… “bustin’ a move”… “the sistas”… No pun intended…

OK folks. Here’s a video. It’s Hammer time! Lizulfisa, yuse gonna’ luv this one! I wish I could watch it with you :)

Why I Love Him Wednesday

wlw.gif

I’ve never participated in a “Why I Love Him Wednesday” before. It was created by the talented and lovely blogger I know as Sleeping Mommy.

Some query, “Why don’t you WLW?” Why, Jenny, why?????!!!

The way I see it, there is waaaaay too much love and adoration in this world and I’m not gonna get in the middle of THAT. But something happened the other day…

It was one of those moments you never forget. A moment where one is reminded how sweet it is to be “in balance” with one’s spouse. When one is down, the other lifts you up…

We had that “perfect moment”… complete balance. One was the moon, the other the sun - filling in the gaps to keep life’s tide in balance…

We were blasting Run-D.M.C. on our thumpin’ minivan stereo… We were recitin’ the lyrics like they were made of butta…. “You be illin’”… We were in perfect harmony. Where I dropped the rapalicious-lyrics - Homey. Picked. Up! Where he dropped the thread of hip-hop poetry, I. Brought. It.

It was truly one of our most fulfilling moments as a couple. True. Dat.

*sniff* Stinkin’ beautiful… *sniffsniff*

Just an ounce of charisma, maybe?

I was getting myself a lil’ sumtin’ sumtin’ in the form of chocolate, vanilla and caffeine this fine afternoon. I placed my ordered and fronted the cash to the barista.

My hair looked like this:

Nothing fancy, just stripes of red and blonde - think Calico cat. I added a couple of little braids ‘cuz… well… that’s how I roll.

The barista handed me my change and in a tone that had me wondering if she suffered from the rare - but serious disease - Voice Emodulation (think Will Ferrell). She said,

Here’syourchangeIlikeyourhair.

I looked behind me. Did a spirit just speak to me? I looked back at the barista and questioned, “Ummm… thank you?”

I like that she liked my hair. I like to be liked. I’m not one of those people who needs to be liked for who I am. I’m shallow like that - kiddie pool shallow. *splish splash* But, it is also handy when a compliment is clearly a compliment. I want to be able to confidently reply, “Why, thank you! I like my hair too! I’d love to hear you say that again sometime!”

Then again, beggars can’t be choosers, and I’m TOTALLY not above wearing a shirt that reads, “Don’t tell me I’m smart… just tell me I’m pretty.”

Kitchen Bubble Scrubber

Dishes, dishes, dishes…. I wonder if this lil gadget would liven things up. Maybe. It might be worth a try. Oh, and a margarita… and of course “Dancing Queen” would need to be blasting too…

A Pub by the Bay

Let’s see. Friday afternoon, I bumped into a friend who said she was going to go listen to this local band whose friend plays in the band and I’d heard another friend mention them recently…*inhale*… so I tagged along. Word on the street was there’d be dancing and far be it from me to pass up such an opportunity…

So I went, to a Portside Pub in my hometown. Yo. Continue reading ‘A Pub by the Bay’

2008 - My Anniversary Year

Nope. 2008 does not bring a major marriage anniversary… just 14 years. No biggie.

Nope. Not my high school reunion. 17 years on that one.

Nope. Not college either… that’d be… um…. something like 13 years.

Nope. I’ve never smoked.

And nope… I’ve never done drugs. Really. I’m as clean as a whistle. Unless you count that second-hand marija-huana at the En Vogue concert - Grad Nite 1991. ‘91! ‘91!’91!

Nope.
Noooooop.
Nu-uh.

Good Golly. Continue reading ‘2008 - My Anniversary Year’
