“Today Really Sucks” by Jennifer Ingram

Since I tend to sit in a “half-empty glass”, I really have to make an effort to see the brighter side. So, despite my title, here is an attempt to look at the brighter side of some of today’s suckier attributes.

The bright side: In the history of sucky-days - this will not make the top 10, nor the top million, not even close…

Casey’s gone (see previous post).

The bright side: It is a really great opportunity for their family.

Casey’s gone. Yeah, it’s good for their family, but everything is supposed to be about me! Leaving here means she’s leaving me!

The bright side: Casey is set free from my self-absorbed clutch.

My son lost half of his front (permanent) tooth yesterday… with the help of a racket during PE at school.

The bright side: The dentist bonded the missing piece back on today.

That missing piece being bonded on cost about 1/4 of what I’d be willing to pay for a new road bike.

The bright side: The dentist bonded the missing piece back on today.

I never took a picture of that half-broken tooth! What kind-of blogger misses and opportunity like that? What kind of MOTHER fails to chronicle such a major event?!

The bright side: It’s one less page to scrapbook, and I don’t need to search for my cord to upload the photo from my camera.

Olivia has 2, maybe 3 cavities.

The bright side: She has a mouth. This is a toughie…

Olivia has 2, maybe 3 cavities. The repair cost will be roughly the amount I’d be willing to pay for a road bike.

The bright side: Ummm. She has lots of other teeth that didn’t have cavities.

The house is a DISASTER.

The bright side: Instead of cleaning it, I am blogging.

Mittelschmerz has become as familiar a foe as Aunt Flo.

The bright side: I get to use a long word, and that makes me sound edumacated.

Yeah, but you’re going to BlogHer in July…eh, I can’t complete with Mittelschmerzen, or whatever. I think that’s the name of one of VW 2009 models…

Ok I totally have never heard that word before..
Bright side? I learned something new.

No, no, no…. mittelschmerzen is the VW term for center console in your car. Or… it might be drunk for “little person.” At any rate, sorry your day sucked. I’m sure it’s hard for Casey to. I pouted with Joni today. We are gonna Thelma and Louise our A double S’s down there. Joel’s tooth… I, don’t know what to say. Poor dude. The bright side is that it is easier to re-attatch a tooth than a nose.

The bright side is you have friends in the blog world who can feel your pain.

Sorry about the tooth, that’s a bummer.

    Tomorrow will be better…It’s Saturday!!
