I need some help.

Trouble shoot with me, will you? Spread the word…

When folks search “jennyonthespot”, my site comes up. This is good… but in the description one will find a trail of unsavory terms and behavior that leave me a bit red in the face. Yahoo is the worst. The first words that come up are the nasty things, trailed by 3 periods, and then the actual text from my site shows up. The crap shows up first!

What is this all about? Jennyonthespot is about as far away from p to the orn as the North Pole is from the South Pole. Opposite. I may write about chicken breasts or breast feeding, but really. Really. I have gotten quite the education on our society’s sickness just by checking my recent search strings. I. Am. So. Naive. I have learned that even publishing the word “milfoil” will draw a certain crowd. I won’t explain it if you don’t get it. It’s my gift to you.

So, anyone have any ideas? Do I contact Yahoo and Google and tell them, “Hey - that sick string of nastiness can be found No - Stinkin’ - Where on my blog.” Or, are these words hidden in my code somewhere? If someone did hide it in there - who would do that, and for what purpose? This is where my inexperience in technical things and blogness really stands out. How can I replace the ugly words with words like, “Pink Puffy Hearts Polka-Dots Casseroles Chocolate Tafetta Converse Confetti Gorgonzola Daisies BBQ Ribs Coffee and Chocolate”? Huh?

This is really buggin’. I feel embarrassed because this stuff is just ugly and since I’m so pretty, this really cuts. Deep.

Blech.

There are a couple of possibilities as to how these key words show up in a search. You have an issue with a theme you are running, which I don’t think is the case. However, jennifersnest.com is running a theme which several porn sites are run on. Are you in anyway related to jennifersnest.com? I noticed you are linked to each other.

Another possibility is a “bot” got hold of some of your content (most likely ““Sigh, I would be in stirrups right now,”) and mashed it up into content on its sight which has porn keywords. When doing some searching I located talkdigger.com and it had the same key words, but linked to jennifersnest.com.

Another thing I noticed was “365 days of” in the keywords which leads me to believe the bot may have went through the Mega Feed at Blog365 when you posted “Sigh, I would be in stirrups right now,” to get the information.

I checked your source code and it looks good.

Anyway, that is what I think the possibilities are. Getting content hijacked sucks. I have had it done to me on another site I run, which is why most of my postings end with a the tag line, “Thank you for visiting Expressing Opinions.” At least it makes it a little easier to track the web site and dispense some grief there way.

    Hope this helps.

    later…

Interesting. I just searched for “jennyonthespot.com” with both Yahoo and Google and got two different results.

Yahoo got me “Error establishing database connection . . . ”

    Google got me . . well . . porn.

Beyond that I got nothin. Bob certainly sounds like he knows a lot more about this than I! Hope you can get it worked out. The Interweb and it’s porn posess very strange magic it seems.

While I realize this is absolutely no help at all, your predicament reminded me of this post, which, hopefully, will make you smile.
