So… I finally made my decision. After many years of planning, training, grooming and dreaming of becoming an astronaut thinking how cool it’d be to walk on the moon, I have decided I will not take any further steps toward realizing my dream of becoming an astronaut.
Why? Why? Why, such a dramatic turn of events? How could I give up so soon? I am only 35! I am merely a spring chick in the pond of space academia!
Well, if you must know… I finally became the proud owner of black, knee-high leather boots, that’s why. I wore them last night and neglected to bring a wire coat hanger to scratch recurrent ankle itches. Heretofore, thither, and so forth - no astronaut suits for me. No. Thank. You. The closest I’ll be getting to moon walkin’ is when I crank Billie Jean on the stereo.
*rattle, rattle*… I know that one white glove is in here somewhere…
