No, I am not using an article to precede the name of a skin condition (ex: the Walmart, the Costco, the Barnes and Noble)… I am talking about a new band. I guess they are not a new band, but they are new to me… and I dig ‘em.
I always keep my ear open for new running/workout music, and I somehow came across The Hives. They’re a little funky, a little punky, a little surfy, alternative-y, rocky… they even sound a little angry at times, which is very motivating when running up a mean hill.
Speaking as a mother, I can discern one or two bad words in the songs I have listened to… and there are some concepts I prefer my kids not to adopt… so I reserve most of their songs for my Shuffle. Then I crank up the volume as I head up a hill on my outside runs or try to increase speed on the treadmill for a little interval push. Tick, tick, boom…
