I guess I didn’t cover EVERYTHING…

So… before Lucy’s arrival I think we did a pretty good job preparing Joel and Livi for her arrival. We read books about being a big brother and sister, we read books that showed picturess of the baby\’s development, we talked about it all the time. I warned them of the crying. I gave them the “Big Bro and Sis Orientation” by showing them where the diapers, wipes, burp cloths, blankets, binkies and onesies were. I told them the baby wouold need A LOT of attention. However, I missed something…

Breast feeding. At first Joel reacted by saying, “Gross!!” Livi asked, “Why is the baby eating your boo-boo?” The kids are used to it now, and it is no longer “gross”. Joel eventually needed a few more details though. One day, as I set down my glass of water, Joel inquired, “Is that (water) for that one (you know)?” I asked, “What do you mean?” He answered, “Is that (water) for that one and milk for that (the other) one?” I pried, “What do you mean?” He replied, “I just thought….” His voice trailed and body language indicated that he thought Lucy got two kinds of beverages from Mommy:) She needed water too… right???

too cute!!! I too \”grossed out\” a youngster while breastfeeding. She was adamant that she DID NOT eat that way when she was a baby! LOL!

How cute! It’s so sweet to see their minds work like that!

That is so cute! I have a 22-month old and a 2-month old. My older one has only showed a little interest in the breastfeeding…she was weaned at 11.5 months so I\’m guessing she has no recollection of breastfeeding herself. She doesn\’t say much so we don\’t know for sure.

I love you blog! I\’m so impressed with how well you handle *3* kids! And how early you took them out by yourself! My little one was 6 weeks before I took my two girls out by myself.

When I was Joel’s age I thought one was regular milk and the other was chocolate. I also thought that we (people on earth) were all Little People (as in the toys) and God was playing with us!!!

    The mind of a youngster!!!!
