Missing: My Lap Part II

Apparently, though I do not have much of a lap these days… I do have knees:)

39 Week Check-up

Dilated to 2.5. Scraped membranes today… My doctor thinks baby will be on the big side… maybe close to 9 pounds. She made sure to point out that there is a 30% margin of error – above or below… Contractions galore… No consistency though…

We are all going crazy here. Each day the kids talk about how they can\’t wait for baby to come. I think they are crawling out of their skin as much as I am!

“AHHHHHHHHHHH”

No, not the lip smack “refreshment” AHHH, not the “exhasperated” AHHH, not the “so cute” AHHH…

It is “Let the angels sing from On High” AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Girl Scout cookies are here. I am still pregnant, so the “craving beast” is still wandering my psyche… Tagalongs and Thin Mints….

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Dare I

say it…? Olivia is nearly potty trained… potty trained… !!!

She has had 3 very good days, and today she hit a big milestone. Today she actually told me she had to go, instead of me just making her sit on the toilet and try! My hubby braved the real world with her today – in undies – and she did very well. She had a small accident, but managed to hold most for the potty at home!

Could this be the beginning of diaper-free days? Could it be, she is potty trained before the baby comes! Dare I dream and claim victory??? Now THIS is a good thing:)

Waiting…

OK, ok, I know I still have a week left, but certainly a woman\’s stomach can only stretch so far!

Last night was the hardest night I\’ve had yet. After finally getting to sleep around midnight, I was awake by 2. The pain in my back was so bad, I couldn\’t find a sitting or reclining position that was tolerable — oh add to that rib pain all along the top of my belly. For at least 3 hours I walked about the living room, got on my hands and knees, kneeled, ate 2 bolws of cheerios, tried sitting, tried reclining, tried out the belly belt (but it made baby too rowdy), and walked about some more. All the while, feeling too exhausted to do anything but lay flat on my face. By 5 I managed to find a spot to recline in without great pain and I finally fell asleep.

\”I wanna snuggle Mommy.\” Oh joy, I got to sleep until 7, almost 2 whole hours. \”I need a new diaper Mommy.\” Cool. It\’s poopy. Good times.

Hubby took the kids for a few hours in the morning. I was so thankful… I fell asleep for 3 hours and woke up feeling fairly refreshed. It\’s night again, and I doubt the baby plans to come tonight. So, I am mentally gearing up for the same as last night. I just pray it won\’t be. I keep thinking that if I am not sleeping most of the night, I could at least be snugglin\’ my new babe! Ah, a lesson in patience AND pain management…

The good stuff… friends have brought us dinner the past 2 nights!!! Another is lined up for tomorrow night too. It\’s this support that really givesme strength in the more trying times. Paul and I feel so blessed to have the help…

Safety First!

Before setting out to sea, all passengers must practice safety!

The Silent Predator

Mosquitos!!! *scratch*

While on vacation last November, in a climate unlike the Pacific Northwest, I was assaulted. It was silent, but the effects were long lasting. *scratch* It happened at the Magic Kingdon (a.k.a. the Happiest Place on Earth)… I believe in the evening. I experience something to the degree I have never known. I have been bitten by mosquitos before – many, many times. I camp, *scratch* I venture outside *scratch* when it is warm and muggy.

I was foolish, I assumed that in November *scratch* all mosquitos went away (hybernate, whatever mosquitos do…). Not so much. Very NOT so much in Florida!

The count, *scratch* you may want to sit down:
18 on just my LEFT leg (7 of the bites on my inner ankle), and 9 on my RIGHT leg *scratch* *scratch* *scratch*!!!

I\’m surprised I didn\’t get mosquito poisoning or something. It makes me itch *scratch* just to think about it!

The next day we left on our cruise *scratch*. The first few potentially restful *scratch* nights, were not as restful as they could have been… *scratch* *scratch* *scratch* *scratch* *scratch* *scratch* *scratch* *scratch*

The Happiest Place on Earth…

Hmmm, maybe my kids didn\’t find the fabulous fireworks display at the Magic Kingom (last November) so enchanting after all. Once the fireworks ended, their fear and trembling did too. Poor kids… I wonder how much therapy they\’re gonna need after that one. The \”happiest\” place on earth…….

A Nerd? A Loser?

I got this from Froggie. I found out I\’m not as nerdy as I thought I might be, but have some nerd blood running through my veins…

Then I took the loser test…

\"I

I can\’t be too big of a nerd since I can\’t seem to figure out how to make this post and the links work – or line up like I want! Oh well…
