On October 26th our dear friends gave birth to their identical twin girls (well, technically, it was just Michelle who birthed them!) Libby and Clara. They were a wee bit early, being born at 36 weeks. The birth of any baby is spectacular, but the story behind the journey Scott and Michele endured makes this event even more precious and blessed. The girls were born healthy - Clara weighing in at 5 lbs 15 oz and Libby tipped the scales at 6 lbs 14 oz!
On Friday, November the 12th, Libby was rushed to the doctor\’s office. She had rectal bleeding She was soon airlifted to Children\’s hospital. We were in Florida, Disney\’s Magic Kingdom when we received the call. We were in shock, but I knew when my cell phone rang the news would not be good… I won\’t draw this out and add drama, Libby is home now, and doing very well, and that is the point. Things looked dire when she was hooked-up on life support, and now she safe at home with her mom, dad and twin sis. I cannot share the details with appropriate emotion or accuracy, but there is a wonderful blog that Scott and Michele update — as they have time. Imagine, twins — time, what\’s time???
All this to say, 2 very big reasons to be thankful this season. A mother and father to to hold ther precious ones, all in good health… We haven\’t been able to see them since our return, we each have a yucky cough, but Scott let us see the girls via webcam last night. What a joy:) I hope this touch of sick goes away soon becasue I can\’t wait to snuggle those precious bundles!!!

I wish them the best of luck and my thoughts are with them.
