2004 Fall Scrapbooking Retreat

Ah, the activity that automatically places me in the \”frumpy mommy\” category. I don\’t care. I love it!

I\’ll be the first to admit that I have been a blessed woman this past month. The last weekend of September I went to a convention (I was gone nearly 4 full days). THEN, the first weekend of October I went away again - this time to a scrapbooking retreat!

I had a fabulous time with all my girls and, as it was at the last fall retreat, got to spend a significant amount of time with my precious friend Sara. We just laughed and cropped and laughed from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. I have gone to several scrapbooking retreats, and this was the first one I took a nap! I don\’t like doing this because it interrupts the creative groove! But, as I have said before, I feel so tired!!! I had no choice. Despite the interruption, I completed 35 pages and documented 10 I hadn\’t from the previous retreat:) It felt great to accomplish something.

To make the time even better, my Sara gave me part of my birthday present (not actually until the end of October) - a fun metal, green basket filled with goodies. She made me a scrap-weekend coffee mug, filled the basket with scrapping survival gear (chocolate), and a bunch of other fun stuff.

Let me write more about my Sara. She is wicked crafty, and as far as I\’m concered, no one can match her in skill, originality and especially heart! She had patches made for me, her and our consultant Lisa. She had them sewn on white shirts - the patched read, \”MAKE SCRAPBOOKS NOT DINNER\”. Of course, she found us matching pink sweaters which perfectly matched the lettering in the patches. Then she made a mug for herself and Lisa, as well as \”security tags\” for us to wear throughout the weekend!

Yep, she\’s the bomb. Her sweet hubby knows it too. As he saw her ready-ing herself for the event, he saw the joy she was finding it all the hoopla. He told her that he wanted to makes sure that no matter where they are in life next year (they hope to have a baby by then), he wants to do all he can to make it possible for her to go. Now that is love! Some fellows might freak-out, but this guys knows about how to cherish his wife:) It just warms my heart:)

Out of it..

I am finally writing. It\’s been a number of weeks since I have posted. I didn\’t realize how long it has been! Life has been so hectic, and then coupled with the intense need to nap, I find little time for the \”extras\” of life - that includes laundry!!! Thank you Julie and Froggie for checking in on me:)

Olivia woke up this morning with a wet bed (I accidentally used a less-absorbent Pull-Up instead of a diaper last night), so after all being up for 15 minutes, I found it hard to get back to sleep. Bless my hubby\’s heart, he got up and changed her sheets while I changed her and snuggled her - it made me think of how blessed I am to have such a great partner in crime, um I mean, life!

Back to being behind on my posts, I think in the next several posts, I\’ll try to be chronological and get caught up…
