Still 1, but almost 2

\"\"Olivia, you will be 2 in just under a month. I have done a poor job tracking all the cute things you say and do, but both your dad and I are just amazed and dazzled by you. Each day you come up with something new. At 23 months you are not really 1, but I am not ready to tell others you are 2! Livi, you are spunky, tenderhearted and can repeat just about anything. You usually copy your brother (as best you can)!

Yesterday I got pretty frustrated because you spit much of your milk onto your pretty Easter dress. Mimi had not yet seen you in it and you \”needed\” to stay clean! As I frantically tried to wipe off the milk you said, \”Mommy?\”
I said in my frustration, \”Livi, don\’t talk to me.\”
You replied, \”Mommy, talk to me\”
OK - that was a little attitude check for me! A little SPOT check I suppose!

The Things You Do:
*You like to go potty on the toilet, but are not yet potty-trained. You love the M&M reward:)
*You have a book of 100 words you like for me to read to you. You know them all, and countless more.
*You love for Joel to open your bedroom door when we get you from the crib in the morning and after nap. If he does not, you ask, \”Where\’s Joel?
*Your favorite thing to do these days (the weather has been gorgeous lately) has been going outside and playing on the swingset.
*You love to wear your bright pink rubber boots.
*You love your food in a bowl (actually, you just love to carry bowls around!) and your favorite thing to drink is milk.
*You are most likely to obey if I ask, \”What did Mommy say\”.
*You call yourself \”princess\” each time you get a new change of clothes. Even if you\’re wearing your brother\’s hand-me-downs!

Olivia, with your curly brown hair, captivating smile, and sweetness you have brought joys we could only dream of - in the best dreams!

Newby

I am new to the blogging world. At first I thought it was merely for the sake of journaling, but am finding there is so much more. As I read the blogs of others I feel a bit intimidated. I am not a writer, and word creativity is not my forte:).

However, my main goal is to write about my kids… 2 of the biggest SPOTS in my life. I want to have for the future a clear picture of who they were in the past. I want to track their accomplishments, track their struggles. I want them to know my feelings and thoughts about them at each new stage I can write about. Children change so quickly and both are so much different now than they were even 2 months ago. Joel is 4 and 1/2 (the “half” is VERY important) and Olivia is 23 months. In 3 months my kids will be 5 and 2 - different ages and new twists in their personalities. It’s exciting and it is exhausting.

There are other SPOTS in my life too, and I am looking forward to developing those areas in my blog as well. Who knows, perhaps one day I will see myself as a writer:)

Welcome to my blog!
